Many turbocharger failures occur during initial start-up or shortly thereafter. The failure is usually attributed to the turbocharger itself. However, in most cases (8 of 10) the cause is external to the turbocharger.
To help cut down on these failures Alamo Industries Ltd. has prepared a set of installation instructions for our customers. These will be found in the box with every turbocharger we supply. We have enclosed a copy for your perusal and would welcome any input or comments you may have.
Let me say that some of our customers have experienced very good results by following these guidelines, particularly the policy of changing out complete units rather than cartridges only. It is our sincere hope that this may help you in your operations also.
